On the 1st gen LIII's, before they went to the EBMM HH pickups, when the HSS model had a Transition in the bridge, what pickups were in the neck & middle? I did some digging, and it seems they are "custom wound Dimarzio single coils"?

And are they noiseless, since they have a preamp? The newer LIII's (with the HH humbuckers) also have MM single coils, and they are specified as having a "noiseless circuit".

Both pickup configurations (HH and HSS) were offered at the same time when the LIII was first released in 2012 (rosewood neck, gain boost on the tone potentiometer, Olive Gold and Black color option only). From 2013 the neck was changed to roasted maple with rosewood fingerboard, the gain boost was relocated to the volume potentiometer, colors were Bohdi Blue and Black at the beginning followed by others later on.
The single coils of the HSS version were described as “2 DiMarzio Custom Single Coil stacked with a dummy coil”. The preamp was for the +10dB gain boost.

Mine is pretty much noisless.

They're based on the Dimarzio Injectors (with different magnets, I believe), which would be the closest available. You could email Dimarzio and ask. They are noiseless. The preamp was for buffer/boost only.

The pickups in the later LIIIs are the same as in the Cutlass series. Traditional single coils, using a Silent Circuit for noise cancellation, and an onboard preamp for buffer/boost.

They are stacked noiseless single coil sized humbuckers. I'm not sure whether they were based more on the Neck or Bridge injector pickups. There was no middle pickup in the injector set, as it came with an Area 67 pickup. Then Paul Gilbert moved on to different pickups and now the Injectors are not as easy to find.
