My wife just told me there was an earth quake in Palm Springs. 5.6! BP are you down that way this weekend? Is everything OK?

When I think back on my time in Central California and coastal Peru, I do not remember fondly any of the earthquakes I experienced during that time.

Glad to hear the damage is minor and mostly bowel-related.

Y'know, I wouldn't be all too surprised if the intensity of the earthquake gave BP an idea for a new bass with such rumble that it could only be rivaled by an actual earthquake. I know sounds crazy, but hey, they made the Bongo. I'm kind of surprised they haven't been contracted by the US government to make weapons.

:D please excuse my imaginative humour

EDIT Geez, feel crappy for forgetting, but also, my best wishes to anybody in the area or anybody affected. And I'm glad to hear you're alright BP.

Although us California natives have been through many a quake, even the small ones tend to make your butt pucker. The larger ones tend to have the effect that BP described in his post. You may look like this:

 What was that????

 Damn! EARTH QUAKE!!!

 I need to get some fresh drawers

Man, I still remember that Northridge 'quake in '94. I live less than 10 minutes away from the epicenter and man did that shake me up!

Definitely nerveracking. Seems like we've had like 6 in the past week. My area even had a TSUNAMI WARNING tuesday night.

And after seeing what the one in December did, I don't wanna see one of those.

When I was in Junior High School, we were told that there was a chance of a tidal wave....So like the smart kids we were, we grabbed our surfboards, paddled out and waited. It never showed up, but we did make the evening news and newspaper the next morning.

I remember my Mom and Dad being pissed at me for that
