August 23, 1981 - The undiscovered Violent Femmes, outside the Oriental Theater (and Pharmacy) in Milwauke, WI - minutes before James Honeyman-Scott invites them to open for the Pretenders that evenint at the Oriental. They had just been told to get electric instruments if they wanted to play Century Hall - a club about 2 blocks north.
