OK, ok, I'm not officially entering into a pissing contest here but I just ordered my BONGO. It's just a 4-HH Bovine so no need to get worried...plus I'm not comfortable with the 5 bangers yet. GC told me mid-March on delivery. Can't wait. It's black with white perloid pickguard....rosewood neck. Yum, yum, yum.

Nice. I'm expecting mine in mid February. I got a graphite pearl 4-HH with black ice pickguard and Piezo bridge. The suspense is killing me!

No contest at all here, folks, I'm just glad to see you guys getting Bongos. They are WONDERFUL basses. Can't wait to see photos.

You're absolutely right, there is no contest :). I just took a look at the rest of your bass stash....nice collection :D. I think my Bongo will be my only pride and joy once it arrives because I'm seriously considering lobbing my Peavey Foundation out the balcony window. So after that, for kicks, the score would be:

Chris: 1
Jack: 9? (how many do you have?)

I like that Heinz by the way. Us bass players need all the attention we can....oh I have to say it.....muster(d) .

Bovinehost victims: 1 ... and counting....

I'm glad I don't have the budget (yet). Besides I have my eye on the Rumblefish BH...

Yes, send us the pictures so we can drool over them and check our bank accounts three times a day!!

I'd prefer the red with abalone pg!

Actually, I discovered this message board after I had already looked (and subsequently decided to get one) at the Bongos. I'm just glad that I found some good feedback from Jack's posts before I placed my order.

Yes, red w/ abalone would do nicely too. :)

Will post pics when I take delivery.....hopefully sooner than later.

> Red and abalone? I don't like the sound of that!

Weird isn't it, unconventional? So is Bongo :)

Speaking of colors; when will Ernie Ball put an instrument builder for Bongo at the website?

Yeah, the instrument builder is long overdue for an update. There are several colors you still can't see on the Sterling and Stingray... not to mention the Bongo and SUB!
