Does this pedal work as an A/B Switcher when it's just straight volume pedal?

In Stereo/Pan mode it works as an A/B Switch. I currently use a Morley A/B.

The Demo on YouTube [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jZFuZxk9_A"]YouTube- Ernie Ball Stereo Volume Pedal[/nomedia]

Blues Saraceno says " It SORTA works as an A/B Switch" I want to know if I

can use EB 500K Stereo/Pan Volume Pedal to replace the Morley in both

modes IE: Stereo and as a straight volume pedal. I'm confused...

Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure if I have understood your question but let me try and help by talking you through the pedal.

I use mine to control my Piezo and mag pickups on my balls.

Rather than run two cables out of the guitar into the A & B input sockets of the pedal, I use a stereo lead out which is plugged into the B input socket of the pedal.
I then run the outputs from the pedal like so - Output A into the AER amp (for the piezo) and output B into my tube amp.

Ok so what will the pedal do? - Remember, apart from the up and down motion of the pedal, it also has a foot activated switch to the side of the pedal.

The pedal will swell the volume of both amps together, or by activating the foot switch will pan between the two.

For what it's worth here is a video clip that I did on the pedal

Hope this helps?

Thank you Spud,

I get what your saying. I'm not using a Piezo though.

I want to know if I can eliminate my Morley A/B switch. I'm playing thru

2 amps as well in stereo. Thats why I use the Morley. I know the Stereo

volume acts as an A/B switch when activated with the toe switch. My

question is : When using the pedal as just a -volume pedal-, Does it act

as an A/B Switcher? Or do I have to still use the Morley Switcher? I just

ordered the 250k pot Stereo EB Volume today. So I guess I'll find out. Nice

video BTW. Does the wood plank floor have any affect on your sound? I'll

post a photo of my setup later........

well that's an interesting concept. I don't know if it will do that!

maybe tomorrow when I have 10 minutes I'll set up my Marshall and Mesa F50, take a mono out into the pedal and see what happens.

The plank flooring - ha! 10 years ago we had the loft converted - full floating floor suspended on 12 " I beams. The loft room is pretty well insulated for sound so I can get away with cranking the amps up a bit !!!

I hope the pedal does everything you want it to - tell ya what though - it is built like a tank!!

FYI, if you're running it like that into two amps, you're liable to get a loud humming due to a ground loop. If that's the case you'll want some kind of transformer isolation between the two. (There are a number of good splitters that will do this.) If not ... well then you're off to the races.

Sweet Stereo

Heya Beej,

My Amps, F 85W Twin Reverb & 30W F Deluxe. The only pedals

are a Vox Big Ben, Ernie Ball Wah<----I love that Pedal--- EHX Chathedral

Reverb and the Morley Switch...The Amps are 8ft apart. Not much hum,

just alot of sweet Stereo. W/ the Chathedral Reverb pedal I can use Delay

and I'm addicted to the tone. The Wah was the icing on the cake.

..... yup, it works as an A/B splitter and I had no hum.

Well ya learn something every day !!!

Wow! amazing....I called yesterday and cancelled my order for the

250k pot and ordered a 500k pot instead. I can get rid of the Morley

switch and just use the EB Volume Pedal now. That's great ! Thanks

for checking that Spud...:D

I think I'll post a thread listing all the switching options of the pedal so in the future people can search for it.
I'll make some new vids too!
