ok guys... got sort of a dilemma on my hands. Another forum member Djemass has a petrucci tremolo that i am two seconds away from sending him money for ( 200$ US) he lives in france. he has this petrucci trem laying around because he put a line 6 variax circuit in his petrucci. I really awnt to put this trem in my sub one guitar ( getting one step closer to having my "custom" ebmm guitar)

the thing is... he's only posted once and he lives in france. he hasnt really given me any reason not to trust him but im just trying to be careful. I desperately want to get this project underway and to send him the cash but im worried im going to get ripped off... im a very prudent buyer and definetly dont want to be out 200 bucks ya know. What do you guys think... should i have some faith and just go for it or worry about it? Are there some questions i can ask him to make sure he wont rip me off? i already asked for pics and he sent them.

Also i dont have a pay pal account so i would be sending the money to him via western union or an international money order through Tops grocery store. please reply asap.

thanks guys

God bless,

Tony

Man......thats a tough call! I really dont know what i would do in this situation. I guess its gonna come down to whether you wanna take the chance or not. Its up to you! One good thing with the Western Union or money order is that you will have a reciept or proof in case something bad happens!!!! Good luck! :)

You could get him to put it on ebay with a buy it now price and also open a paypal account. Did the other guy ever use ebay? Maybe he has good feedback. Just a suggestion.

Walk away NOW! Seriously, the guy could be legit, but I would rather not be the person used to determine this...why don't you contact the insurance company that has Rush's Blue Dawn maybe they'll sell you the trem...

I don't know if ebay would help, the guy probably doesn't have enough feedbacks to fall under PayPal buyer protection.
I don't know how relevant that is, but I had to sell a pedal to one eBayer from France through eBay. The guy wouldn't responds to my emails until I mentioned negative feedback, then he payed in full, recieved an item, and we both left each other positive feedback. He's no longer a registered user though...

If I really wanted the item, I would go for it. Maybe you could send him half the money now and the other half once delivered.

I THINK this is a good idea. Ask him to send a photo of the JP model he uses with the new bridge, so you know that he definately did replace it. That way you know whether he did truthfully replace it. Get a photo of his JP, that's the best idea.

I don't think he'd go for that...I asked my father inlaw the same question, half now then half later and he told me to go and do something to myself, and he lives next door :D
