I have an Ernie Ball Audiophile HD500 Bass Pre amp and Foot switch. I have a problem as the foot switch has a phono plug but the pre-amp has a din socket. I downloaded the schematic for it but it doesn't seem to show the wiring for the din. I have attached a picture of the din showing the 6 wires. I want to change the phono coming out of the foot switch to a corresponding din plug to fit into the pre-amp. Can anyone help me with the correct connectivity as I only have 3 wires from the switch but 6 on the din. Thank you.

There were two different versions of the HD-500, with different footswitches. I do not think there is any way to easily get one to work with the other without completely redoing the wiring. The footswitch with the DIN connector had LEDs on it, and I would assume it simply had one wire per function. The TRS footswitch looks to have used some tricks to get 4 functions going over a three conductor wire.

Yep thanks for your input. I have managed to d/l the schematic's and it looks like I have an ED2 Amp and an ED1 footswitch. The amp has a 6 pin din of which 4 wires are need whereas the ED1 Footswitch only has 3 and combines the mute and boost switches. I have to rewire it with 4 core cable and separate the switches at the same time introducing another Zener BSX558B4V7 diode. This would replicate ED2 wiring according to the schematic. So hopefully that will work...
