I recall that some years ago I really craved for an Ibanez guitar, especially a JEM 7VWH. I found it really great despite the ridiculous price it has on it...

Fast forward to today. I was checking out "IBANEZ RULES!!" - Ibanez Guitars - New and Used which is a great page with lots of pictures and whatnot and when I see them I cannot help but think "My EBMM Petrucci kicks their ass... and badly". Piezo, the shape, the inlays, the trem. Damn, it's just all around superior.

Btw, I still think that Ibanez makes great guitars but I felt like sharing this small bit of nonsense with all you die hard EBMM fans

Sure I like Ibanez and I think of their irk they are one of the better companies but with Musicman I am confident I am getting a good quality piece of wood.

I'm not bashing them but I just feel you never know what you are getting really and the finish on them hides a mulititude of sins in my experience.

Comparing a JP6 to a JEM is like comparing a 200mph BMW 7 Series to a Toyota MR2.

Even the resemblance for both is striking lol

On the same note, have you seen those old reissue RG's? The Yellow/Blue/Pink flamingo ones? Yuck

Never ending comparisons ... I respect all the brands that I play, that's why I have them ... I'd never get rid of my Axis, I'd never get rid of my Jem 77FP and some other ones that I have ... They all offer me something unique that allows me to be versatile in many aspects.

Arn’t they good smelly. I had an AX40 for 4 months last year. I was very impressed.

I think some who haven’t tried them might compare them to OLP’s. There is no comparison. The SBMM line are damn fine guitars.

Had a Jem 777 VBL years ago, one of the first runs from 1990. Great guitar with a really great sound and very comfortable neck (unlike the newer Jems), but the JP is simply better made and owns it. And we are not even talking the BFR.

Hey now... JEMs are pretty cool guitars, especially the older ones. I wouldn't mind a BSB model or one of those black/green swirlie ones. I'll admit I do like JP's better but the JEMs certainly aren't turds.

Not turds at all of course, but my JPM model has definitely taken away the godly status from them. Of course I'd still take a 7VWH any day for free

Non Prestige Ibanez's i agree are crap. But i do love my RG2550z Prestige. And i also love my JP6.

i do like vai and satriani as well, so i tried to like Ibanez, but i never could.
what i found on the balls : the neck shape, the top quality wood, attention to details, the tone, all you want is there!

Oh man sweet MR2!!! Haha I am the same way. Was thinking about an Ibanez but the chance came along to get my Silo and I was like I can actually own an EBMM??? Deal!!!!Love it to death!

Before My Music Man I had a solid Number of Ibanez gear:
RG 550
Rg 2550
RG 2610
Cabriolet
Heartfield Talon IIIR, made for Fender in the 90's by Ibanez

Now, I only have the Heartfield and a Tele(like a smart car with a hyabusa engine, I've set this thing so it looks like a normal tele, but will melt your face)

My Silo Special is just... Well... It just Is. It's a Real Freaking Guitar that never disappoints. I can also play it for a longer period of time without getting hand fatigue like I used to on those pencil thin necks Ibanez Makes, no offense to those guys, but I'm just having an overall superior experience with my EBMM.

Sweet another Heartfield owner!! I have a Talon V!!! Sweet guitar but love my EBMM so much more. The Heartfield is very int he Ibanez area but man my Silo is such a great player. Still hoping someone on here wants to trade for a JP7!!! Want a 7 so bad!
