I hope that I have posted this in the correct place.
I have an EB 6166 and a passive EB Jr and I have noticed the same problem with both. Any guitar I run through either of the VP's makes a loud popping sound when I move the pickup selector (single coils and humbuckers alike) and if I try to adjust the volume or tone on the guitars, there is an extremely loud scratchy sound that comes out of the amp (Fender 65 DRRI). Thinking it was an issue with the amp, I took the amp to a repair shop and had the guy look it over...no problems there.
When I would run my Wah (VOX V847A) in front of the VP I was using and whenever I would engage the wah, the same horrible scratchiness would occur, changing with the sweep of the pedal. In just playing around with it and troubleshooting, I moved the wah after the VP and the issue was gone, but the scratchiness from the volume/tone/pickup selector on the guitar still makes the sound through the amp.
There is no scratchiness through the amp in the sweep of the VP at all.
Is this a problem that I can fix by changing out the pots on both VP's or is there something else I need to change?
