I have a 12-year-old 6166 passive VP and would like to know where it would be best placed on a pedal board. Because it is passive, must it go only at the beginning?

I realize everyone has their own on this, but what seems to be the best location?

Thanks

It depends if you play with pedals or directly with the gain of your amp. There is not one solution : the best one is when you feel that the sound is the best for you.
Personally, my volume pedal is after my distortion pedals, thus it changes just the volume. If you put the volume pedal first, it will change also the amount of gain (in this case, the volume pedal behaves like the volume pot of your guitar).
Experiment ... it really depends on the hardware you are using.

Good luck

So, even if it's a passive volume pedal, it will work after other pedals?

I know some guys like the VP at the end of their pedal chains as well...

Guess I just need to experiment a bit.
