EB wah pedal problem

I have the EB Wah and the output is too hot. It creates too much clipping in the signal. I'm willing to do a mod to drop the output when the pedal is engaged. I like the fact that it has no knobs or options but the "driven" output when the pedal is engaged is a deal breaker. I want to keep it because of the build quality.

All suggestions appreciated.
