As I sit here logging on each day, and taking note of the ebmm 50th Anniversary countdown, I have to wonder what is on the horizon?

I can only assume that a cool limited finish will be offered across the range of instruments. So, I said, "Hmmmm, Big Poppa has been mightly generous with the Vault photos, maybe he'll give us a hint of what that offering may be?"

It could be limited to a color, but who knows? Maybe something more...like an unavailable wood option?

58 days away feels like 58 years.

Any knuckleheads have some foresight into this, or perhaps just a wish list?

If it's a wish list, I love reverse headstocks, but I doubt that would be used on an Anniversary edition since they are not reflective of the company's history.

If I were to take a guess I would say a special finish is not going to be it. EBMM for a few years did a yearly TE model that was always a special color. With that in mind I think they would up their game for an anniversary like this one.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I'm pretty sure it's the 50th anniversary of Ernie Ball strings, not Ernie Ball Music Man, thus no Limited Edition Instruments/ Finishes.

Pretty sure I read this in a previous thread but couldn't find it to share.

I believe MM wasn't started 'til 1974 or so by Leo Fender, which would make the company 38 years old in 2012.

Could possibly be tied in to the new strings that that bad ass bass player, cyoungnashville has been sporting recently?

You're right it's the 50th Anniversary of Ernie Ball, not Music Man. So there probably won't be anything offered instrument wise. But ya never know. They might tie something in with Music Man. Only time will tell.

The grand Ball room (CA)
The eagle logo from the EB Slinky string packs (and on Tollie's chest) as an inlay at the 12th fret of a special edition Axis or Silo.

That's my guess. :D

Ahhh, I should probably stop pestering my salesman at G.C. about it then. He hasn't heard anything.
