Hey all,

Anyone using an EBMM with a Boss GT-8?

I have an EBMM JP6, and I am finding that the sound through the GT-8 is a little bit muddy... to the point that I almost always have the tone knob on the JP6 at 90 - 100% treble.

I don't run the GT-8 through an amp; I just play directly into the house PA.

Has anybody else run into this? How have you dealt with it - changes to the Global EQ? Changes to the amp sim? Use of the on-board EQ?

Any suggestions are welcome... thanks!

I've been using one for a little bit, I use a BBE sonic stomp through
the GT's fx loop, it also works through the amps fx loop, what a
killer unit!!

Personally I would rather use a PODxt if I was going through the PA directly.
Thats just me though hehe.

I use also for club gigs my Pod xtl through 2 monitor wedges or use the effect return of an amp combo. It sounds great with my Luke :D

Two comments:

1. I never use the tone knobs on my guitars. To me they just serve to make the tone muddy - so I leave them at 10.

2. One thing to check on the GT-8 is the output select. Ideally it should be set to Line/PA for running directly into a PA. If that's how you have it set and you don't like it, you can either play with the amp sim presence or Global EQ, or you can try one of the other output select settings, as they will likely add more 'fizz'. I find that the Line/PA setting adds body/balls and removes some high end when running into a full range amp.

Hope this helps,
Mike
