They're harder to machine and file. They do last longer. They tend to have a brighter sound than nickel based frets. They are rumored to be harder on strings (?) ... I have maple Warmoth with jumbo SS frets, they are brighter sounding, they play very nicely though. The guitar did sound very dark and bassy, this replacement neck, with a pickup change balanced it out perfectly.

I like 'em! I had a Parker for a while, and the SS frets are very smooth and great for bending. And they will probably last you a lifetime, depending on how much you play. If your main gigging guitar had SS frets and was played a whole lot, you might need one refret before you died, but that's about it I would imagine.

I have a Carvin on order with SS frets, and I can't wait to get it. I wish everyone at least offered it on some of their guitars. I prefer them.

I like the way that they feel and I definately like that they last longer. I'm pretty hard on frets with my playing style. I've wondered what they would do to the sound of my JPMs.

Or did tommy throw you off with that whole "other manufacturer syndrome"?

Tommy, stop talking about other guitar manufacturers. :p ;)

I should have said this in my first post, but have you considered getting your MM guitar (if you have it currently, or are planning to buy) refretted with SS's? A good competent luthier could do this for you... it is not necessary to buy a guitar with SS frets to get them. ;)

I totally agree on the bad electronics thing. I bought a F***** Tele which buzzed like a very buzzy thing, even after being fitted with DiMarzio VV pups.

I ended up getting some graphite paint to shield all the cavities, something I was happy to see EBMM doing as standard!

22 pole pieces! Ugh...they must have 5 conductor wiring for the optional SUCK knob. I hate, HATE their pickups. Rant over. Seacrest Out!

EBMM doesn't do custom ordered guitars. Their regular choices top something likr 10K with all of the different options and configurations.
