Question for you Ernie Ball experts-
The EVH hardtails I have ALL have the bridge pickups super close to the strings-was that intentional or a production flaw?
I took the strings off>> to do some more evaluation and the bridge pickup is seated nice and snug to the body- and what is the fretboard radius on the EVH hardtails?
Justa wondering...:)

never had a hardtail....are they so close that when you rest your hand on the bridge to palm-mute, it makes the string touch the pickup?

brenrocks, >> no not that close-but I just measured (low E) and it's approx 2/32 away from the pickup-then when I fret the last fret its approx 1/32 away-Now I can lift the saddles but the closeness to the fretboard feels great???

Whereas the neck pickup is approx 4/32 away and fretted on the last fret it approx 3/32

If I shim the neck it would make the neck closer to the strings correct? Thats the opposite of what I'm looking for- I can just raise the saddle height to get the strings further away from the bridge pup, but really like the feel of how it's set now-........
I was just phishing to see if all EBMM EVH hardtails are like that :)

Where are all these EB techs that monitor this forum??
