Hi guys a few months ago I bought a new JP 12 and everything seemed fine, action was pretty good, but then I changed strings and maybe the weather had some effect and I started getting fret buzz. So I decided to try to use the truss rod to relieve some tension in the neck however when I tried to do this, I realised the truss rod wouldn't move. I have used maybe moderate pressure, I don't want to be too aggressive for obvious reasons but now I'm not sure what to do. I've heard of some people using oil to try to loosen it.

Does any one have any good ideas? Thanks.

Maybe, your truss rod is all way down? In the end of the moving way? You need to take your guitar to pro luthier anyway.

Hi Jackguitar and welcome to the forum. Bring the guitar back to the store you bought it from and let them look after you. If may be very easy to fix, perhaps just a little more force needed to loosen it, but let them do it. If there is something to be fixed under warranty let them deal with it.

If that isn't an option, call the Music Man distributor for your country (see the list here- International Dealers) or contact Music Man international customer service (see the link in my signature below or check out music-man.com).

Which way are you moving it? I always try to loosen first, then tighten. Sometime this helps free it up.

Sometimes they are tight especially the first couple tries. Best to take it to a shop and let them adjust it.
