I have 2 JP6 at this point, and its seems that their necks are not the same...
The first one made in December 2004, the second one made in July 2005.

Is it possible that the necks are different or it's just a disillusion?

I'm not aware of any changes made to the necks by MM.

Somebody please help!!

Thanks,

STR,

What "part" of the neck do you think feels different?? The back profile? The frets? The radius? Or just not sure, just feels different.

I feel the 2004 neck is fatter than the 2005, I can't explain exact, it's very hard, I just find the 2004 neck more comfortable, the edges are not as sharp..

I think it comes down to the final hand sanding. Which can make a small difference.

Yeah, I think we ALL experience that sometimes! In fact, no two snowflakes (of the countless ones that have fallen)will ever be exactly the same.

Seems the "touch" of our hands are sooooo much more precise than our eyes, and can detect microscopic differences. Temperature, humidity, wood, machinery, etc. . . can all add up to two necks with precisely the same spec's "feeling" different. Even the difference in the "body" weight can attribute to this. So, unless there was an intentional design change, I would say the above would apply.

As far as the sharp edges; if you mean the "outer" fret edges, a common cause is heat. When the temp goes up and the wood shrinks slightly, it exposes the "edges" of the frets a hair - thus sharp edges. You can gently and carefully file these back yourself.
