I'm thinking about buying a EBMM JP guitar without the piezo.

But I don't know if I will buy the 6 or the 7 strings model.

Atm I'm playing a Fender Stratocaster so it's 6 strings and I've never played 7 strings guitars before.

I was wondering if playing a 7 string guitar is a lot diffrent from playing a 6 string guitar since neck is bigger, etc...

P.S. Srry for bad english

Don't worry about your english and welcome to the EBMM Forum!! If you haven't ever played a seven string then I suggest you try one out, even if it's not a JP7, before you consider buying a seven string. I've never actually played a JP7 but I know that other seven strings feel really unusual to me. Even the resident seven stringers here will tell you it takes some getting used to.
Either way you'll be very happy when you get your JP!! Do you know what colors you're leaning towards?

Go try a 7 string, it is a world of difference, although at the moment i'm not an EB owner:( (going for a JP7 andSilo when someone buys my ibanez's) in my opinion the JP7 is one of the most playable 7s out there i own a J custom Ibanez (up for sale if anyone wants it!) and thats supposed to be one of themost comfortable to play, the JP7 pisses on it!
go find a JP7 and be amazed! if you on't think you are going to use the 7th string much though just go for the 6, on the other hand 7's can be inspiring.

You have to judge a 7-string relative to other 7s and not 6-strings. 7s will definitely have wider necks and possibly a more awkward feel compared to a 6, but if you're looking to reach some lower notes, a 7 is the way to go.
The JP7 has a very comfortable neck (as well as the JP6).

Also, base it off which material you play, seeing as you're not getting a piezo, I assume you're more into the metal-side of DT? (Or you just want to save money), either way, I'd go for the 7, just because you technically have everything you'd ever need. You can easily adjust to the JP7 neck, although you're still going to want to try one out.

Hope this helps.

:D Hi, must agree with every one if you have not played a 7 then go try some out , I have a very limited experience with 7`s and do not own one, if you are used to 6 and want a JP I would recommend getting a 6 and spending the extra to get the peizo, I cannot say enough great things about the peizo option, playing mine as I type and the sounds are awesome, just my two cents, work your way up but start with a JP 6 w/peizo:D

PS I am not that good had to put it on the stand to type message:)

If you want to get a 7-string, just do it!!! In my experience, the transition between 6 and 7 strings is very quick and very easy. Keep in mind that you are not redefining an instrument, but merely adding a string. I haven't even touched my 6-strings within the last month... honestly, they have practically been retired since I got my 7 in early August - and now, with yet another 7 on the way, I have a hard time seing them getting any action at all...

Cheers

Thanks a lot guys I have one of my friends that have a 7 string so I'll try to meet him and try his guitar.

And for the color I think it will be Egyptian Smoke, Sapphire Black or Graphite Pearl.

Thanks Again :)

If you're thinking about a 7 string, just get one. Before I ever played a 7, I knew I wanted one, because it's just suprior. When I played one, it turned out I was right.

Oh, and get it in Egyptian Smoke. :)

Or Desert Gold :)

I bought the 7 string sight unseen and had never played one. I dont regret it for a second. I found it easy to start playing right away. More width on the neck for sure but only what is needed. Sonic versatility. Since the neck is obviously wider for the 7th string switching back to a six string makes them even more effortless to play. I have had a JP6 before and have another on order now. My advice is buy either or both you cant go wrong! IF you don't like the 7 you can always sell it.
