I have bought a used EBMM Luke III HSS and the previous owner swapped out the neck pickup with some sort of "rail" pickup. I haven'r received the guitar yet but I will want to make the guitar stock again. I called EBMM and was told the pickups aren't for sale. Does anyone have a EBMM Luke III single coil neck pickup for sale? I know there's one out there because it was taken off this guitar.

I haven't seen the pickups sold on their own by anyone, so that's probably a tall order. Have you asked the seller what he did with it?

I bought it from a Guitar Center. The pickup wasn't in the case and the guitar came from a different store. I also have a Luke III HSS in Bhodi Blue. In 2000, I bought my first Luke and it was stolen from me in Cleveland in 2007 after I played a job at the HOB

If all else fails, there may be the slimmest of chances if you contact customer service and offer to send the guitar in and pay the repair and replace fees to have them put an original in there...but im not sure they would do that.

They have been known to replace necks (they did one for me) but they keep the other neck.

I am going to send pictures of the guitar along with a copy of my sales receipt to EBMM and "beg" them to help me out.

The pickup in the Luke is not for sale. If MM hook you up I will be begging them for the same thing so let me know. I spoke with the folks at Dimarzio and they told me the closest thing they make is called the Injector neck model DP422. You have to custom order it without the flange to fit it in the Luke. I would kill to have the single coils in the Luke III.

fwiw, I have both versions of the PG fireman gits...
The 'injectors' are fabulous...quite a few pro players are using them in their single coil guitars..
If I get time soon, I'll try to A/B the two for a comparison

Did a little A/B with the LIII and Injector neck pups yesterday. Taking into account very different guitars, the pups still sound quite different to me.
In fact I was quickly reminded that the pups in the LIII (transitions) definitely have their own voicing, at least imho....
And it's a fabulous voicing indeed!!

Good luck!

We put a set of those in a mim strat a while back.
They don't suck, but I'd replace it in the Luke for sure.... unless you like it there...

Thanks for the information. I've played the new Luke but not plugged in. I am going to try to get another Transition single coil for this guitar. The Lace pickup is just frickin ugly.

I'm serious, if you find a way to get one you tell me how because I would love to get my hands on the single coils in the Luke III guitars.
