I think I saw a thread for this before, but not sure. Anybody have the specs for the proper pick-up height for the Standard EBMM Steve Morse Blueburst??? Think my single coils may be set too high by the previous owner. Thanks everybody.

I read Steve keeps them pretty low, especially the singles.
I brought mine to the factory once and they eyeballed it to adjust.
Mostly use your ear to find height that pleases.

Hello

I own a beautiful Steve Morse Signature since 2001. During the years, I made a few adjustments to the pickup height.
You have to keep in mind :
1. The sound of each pickup
2. The differences of level between each pickup

Now, my single coils are a bit lower than the factory settings, mainly for two reasons : I prefer to have a greater level difference between single coil and humbucker (for instance I use the single coil for rythm and the humbucker for solo : I don't need to use a volume pedal or a boost to have the extra gain), and if the single coils are to high (especially the neck single coil), my pick can touch the pickup when I play.

Experimentation is the key. Just take time to measure and to note each setting in order to be able to remember your favourite setting.

Good luck, the EBSM i such a nice guitar :) :)

I've had a few different answers on this one. The last I heard from CS was:

- Bridge - 4/32"
- Middle (both) 5/32"
- Neck - 4/32"
- A little close on treble side, maybe 1/32" or so.

All from the plastic cover to the bottom of the string.

YMMV. Definitely use your years and your playing style as the gauge.
