Hi guys,

I know that some of you got these two models.

I'll be very thankfull if you compare some aspects of these guitars.

I'm planing in that green EVH from the topic near this, but I'm still interested in the Steve Morse Model for the versatility and a new one is almost 1/3 cheap than the EVH that I found.

Thanks.

humm. they're extremly different from each other. while the Morse is extremly versitile, it's also a pretty weird duck. the EVH is obviously more collectable, and a bit more direct in its design - so you really can't go too wrong with it. make sure you actually play a morse before you decide on it because for as many people who swear by them, there's also a lot of peoplr out there who aren't as wild about them.

Here's a great compromise. Buy an Axis. IMO it's better than the original EVH and it's a load cheaper. I believe that the Axis is a modern day equivalent to the Strat and the Les Paul of the late 50's.

get an axis & a morse........you'd be so there !!!!!!

Thanks for the responses.

I found a guy in my city, friend of a friend, that has a Steve Morse and called him.
He told ma that I can go there to test teh guitar to see if fits my taste.
I'll be there on friday, tomorrow.

I'm in a dilema now.
What a S**t.

The Axis seems an option, but that EVH is a must have too.

I've been lucky enough to try out an EVH or two, though some will disagree, unless collectability is the issue, just buy an Axis.

Blackspy,

not a collectable item, I think it like an playable item, that's what it would be.

And, YES, i play all my guitars very much. All of the 2 that I have :D

They're used but not abused.

I got a Jem since 99 that's going to need a fret change soon.

Go for the Axis and add a D-Tuna for around $50. EVH's signature isn't worth the extra cash. Just about every other aspect is the same. The average layperson doesn't even know that EVH had anything to do with the design in the first place. I have to tell them so (if I wish). Then use some of the extra cash to get the EVH Phase 90 (its killer, and worth it). The D-Tuna will have his logo on it if that's what you're after.

Does anybody know if the fretboard is still digitally cut from the Frankenstrat, or did EVH yank it? Just curious.

+1!

I used to own 2 EVHs. Sad that I sold them years ago now, but my beautiful Honeyburst Axis plays better than those two did! I don't know why exactly, the thing is just a gem and plays like a silky smooth....something smooth...and....silky..... (dang I need to work on the vocab!) :)
