Well remember that EC is a EB string user. Maybe he just likes the straps?

I use the standard nylon straps on all of my guitars. They are durable, inexpensive, comfortable, easy to adjust and they do not distract any attention from the guitar because of their plain and simple looks.

Adjustability is a big deal for me. I want finer control than many straps allow and since I use strap locks, a lot of straps are hard to adjust.

The only posh strap I've found that's sufficiently adjustable is made by Eyeland.

An Eyeland (one with the glass eye) is my main guitar strap. I do have one of the simple EBMM straps in one of the bags somewhere though. Monocase Betty straps for my basses though.

I sometimes use a plain leather strap - no buckles, no adjustment - it just has straplocks on it.

I got fed up with smacking the guitar with the buckle when I used to put it on the stand.
