Does anyone know what brand/size strings Eddie uses on his Musicman Axis?Also whtat brand/size pick does he use?Iam going crazy looking all over the internet for this info.Thanks!!!!

Sorry man Eddie plays EVH's, not Axes. As for his string brand/size, sorry can't help you there. The Axis is what the EVH's evolved into.

this is gonna get locked fast. ed used the 5150's i am sure that where made by ebmm when he was also playing the evh. they actually were making them beofre they started the guitar. this isnt a ed forum though and this kinda post wont go well.

I found some at the store a while back, a few loose singles.

My bad I didnt realize Ed was a sore subject around here??I thought Ed was playing Musicman and Charvels he left Peavey,Didnt he?I seem to have the best luck with GHS when Iam using a floyd rose system I'll probaly use it on my Axis as soon as she gets here!At any rate I was just curiosu thanks for replies

The EB strings the EVH used were pure nickel. Warmer, richer tone. EB brought these back as the "Rock 'N' Rollers"

Not the nickel plated ones!! Very bright sounding strings.

The thing is that the person who owns EB and pays for this forum doesn't have EVH on top of his list of friends
So if you want to have an in depth Q & A on Mr EVH then this is really not the place to do it and don't be suprised to see this thread locked by a moderator.

you know even though i have been here awhile and know alot about ed. i thought when he left he said him and blp where still freinds but maybe not. anyways eb makes some great strings that you should try. me iliked the 5150 stings as i liked the smaller e and g string. f$%^$# does make a set caleed the 150 xl's that are the same gauge as the 5150's and pure nickel. dont feel bad about not knowing the whole ed deal. you didnt know and i am a big ed fan but more of the days when he was here then now. ebmm made him some great guitars and lots of neat one off's and such that we will never get to see. great forum stick around.

I like EVH I thought he went from EB to Peavey back to Charvel?Iam sure EVH helped Ernie Ball sell alot of guitars even though he isnt with them ,but I still see him playing them.............................................................
