With all the amazing wonderful tones and sounds the Bongo gives you:

Does any one run any unique effects or processed signals through the Bongo?

Since The Nerve! was offered a sponsorship deal with Sam Ash and we now get free stuff :) , I picked up a digitech overdrive a couple of weeks ago and used it for the first time this past saturday. Sounded gnarly, in an awesome way.

I'm heading back to get an envelope filter next month - we get a certain amount of money to spend per month.

I was never much for pedals because I trip over them, but I finally learned to not step on my cord anymore, so I'm figuring I can get the hang of some boxes if I practice.

I do, but rarely. I use a Bass PodXT.

I need it for songs where I play guitar or keyboard hooks.

- Phish "Back on the Train" I use an envelope follower to get a kind of Grateful Dead thing for a solo in the middle of the song.

- Moody Blues "Story in Your Eyes" and Guess Who "No Time (Left For You)" I use an overdriven amp simulation to get a distorted guitar sound.

- Peter Gabriel "Solsbury Hill" I use chorus for about half the song, filling in keyboard parts. I was playing this on fretless, but I have to say the Bongo is sounding pretty nifty.

The other 97 percent of the time I'm running clean.

Going to pick up a NYC Bass Driver stomp box this Saturday...not that the Bongo really needs it...more for extra tone-seasoning.

Hey Shamus, you know you could also use the parallel out on the Sansamp BDDI to split your signal into your two amps instead of A/B/Y box. You could run one amp with the Sansamp in your signal and the other amp clean. Of course you couldn't toggle back between the two amps but if your going to run both amps all of time it might work for you.

I've used a Boss bass chorus and a Boss bass overdrive with my Bongo. After using them a while, I've concluded I prefer a clean sound. Still, they were pretty good effects pedals.

on the pedal board at the moment are an EBS Multidrive, Boss CS-3, Dod FX25, Line 6 MM4 and a EHX Graphic Fuzz.

I've also got to integrate an EHX Bass Microsynth, Morley Dual Bass Wah, Boss RV-3, Akai Hexacomp and a couple of others I can't remember at the moment.

After all that I often play either straight into the amp or with a single Boss CS-3 and leave all the other stuff at home.

I ahven't been able to locate the input jack on my Bongo, so no signals through my bass as of yet;)

On the floor there's EBS MultiComp, EBS Ocataver, EBS multidrive and a Peterson Strobostomp. Not vey unique, but I felt like sharing.

The stage we were playing on last Saturday was about 4 feet high. One of the chicks that was dancing right in front of the stage started to fall down. When she reached for the stage to stop her fall, she ended up grabbing my rhythm guitar players pedal board and pulling it off of the stage. Fortunately, everything stayed intact and all he had to do was plug a cord back in. I don't have anything but my Boss TU-2 and an A-B-Y pedal and they stay back by my amp.

I've decided to scrap the two amp system, realizing there just aren't too many venues around here with stages big enough to accomodate that much bass equipment.

Either that, or I'm starting to get a harness on my gear-whoring...

...probably not.

Right now I'm running the B2R through the 115BLX-II and the 210BLX-II...plenty of bottom-end and punch. The NYC Bass DI will be used for a little extra tone control and drive.

I'll probably hang onto the Loop-Master A-B-Y for future use.

Thanks anyway for the tip!

You can still kind of get a 2 amp setup just by using the BDDI and your rig. Send the parallel out on the BDDI to your rig for an unaffected tone, then take the xlr out on the BDDI and send it to the PA.This way you can get an overdriven SVT sound with a different EQ through the house and still have a solid clean sound onstage...........

Interesting idea...I'll give it a shot.
