I'm making some clips of the new Egnater preamp modules through the MOD 50 head. I'll be using my Ernie Ball Musicman Steve Morse model for pretty much everything I think. Here is the first. I will say, that it is a very inspiring tone from the two single coils with the spongier Egnater version of the Twin. It is amazing how nearly acoustic the guitar feels, but it certainly still has the whomp of an electric too.

Egnater Mod 50 Twin/EBMM Morse clip No. 1

Egnater MOD 50 TD (Twin/Deluxe) Module on channel A (Twin). God, do I love this thing! Guitar is Ernie Ball Musicman Steve Morse model with the two single coils position. Recorded with SM57s on an Eminence Texas Heat and Governor speakers. There is no compression in the path; the TD channel just really feels full all by itself. There is a little bit of L3 on the mastering bus, but it only knocks the thing down a dB in two places or something. Also added a touch of IR ambience verb and splash of Waves delay for good measure.

This has the same exact settings as the first but just played with a few different right hand techniques to a goofy little loop. These are some alternating rhythm and lead sections from a tune I wrote about 15 years ago. I’m not playing it how I’d like at the moment, yada yada...but it shows some more nice colors of this preamp module.

John, sounds great! I have to agree about the Twin/Deluxe module. It's fantastic. EBMM piezos are wonderful through it. Now, those REALLY sound acoustic with the TD module.

Okay. I'm going to say it again. Man, that sounds great, John. :D You must be really digging the TD module. Which other modules do you favor?

Thanks again guys!

Great stuff - man I really heard an Eric Johnson vibe on the second one.

Would love to hear you do a clip on an AL !!!

Dude...I want one of those in a very big way. I just can't spring for it for a long while though. I would love to use it for a bunch of really twangy stuff I'm doing at present. The Morse is just great for it, but I do think the AL mayeven be better-suited for some things I've got cookin. I have an Egnater VOX preamp that just kills for clean, punchy, glassy bluegrass stuff, with the AL, I bet it would be incredible! Boingy-goingy-goingy!
