I was wondering if anybody knew the differences between the russian and american made big muff pedals, apart from the aesthetics.

This will probably get moved...anyway, I think the Russian one is the original and the USA Big Muff is the re-issue...I was looking to get one, but the USA ones get MEH(so-so) reviews on their durability!

Sorry jon, wasnt sure where to post it as it was guitar related i thought guitar forum, never even noticed the general one before  anyway.... Went to a shop today and tried them both out, and decided on the usa model, felt better quality and had a bigger sound to it.

Does it compare with other stomp boxes out there...like the Zkk OD? Can you provide clips? You know I love stomp boxes and spending money

Its my 1st pedal, so I have nothing to compare with. And I didnt try any others when I was buying it because I knew that was the one I wanted. But I am very impressed with it, I thought the wooden box was a nice touch. you can go to the electro-harmonix website and download different artists using it if you want to hear it. I have tried it on my guitar, although it was bought for my bass, and it sounds absolutley brilliant on both.

I paid £75. The russian model was £55. I had seen the USA ones for £55 on ebay, but there werent any there, and the cheapest from an online shop was £65 excluding post and packing. All in all im glad I bought it from a shop cos I had a good half an hour with them both before I bought.
