So I was at Borders recently and in the clearance section there was a guitar book that gave a brief insight and history on practically every guitar brand (even cheap brands like Jay Turser, etc.). I get to the Music Man section only to find a huge picture of Eddie Van Halen playing a CHARVEL! Then it gave a few paragraphs on Ernie Ball strings and buying the Music Man name. The only reference to Music Man guitars was one paragraph about the EVH model followed by three paragraphs about the new EVH Wolfgang. No mention of the Stingray, Silhouette, etc.

I wasn't expecting an in-depth history on the development of the Albert Lee model but I certainly expected a bit more than what was presented. Hell, they could have at least used a picture of EVH actually playing a Music Man EVH.

Just curious - what was the first printing date of this book? And what was the books name? By any chance do you have an ISBN? How about a pic of the book. Without these things to back up your story, the book doesn't exist.

Yeah, actually that wasn't a guitar book, if you looked closely it was a "cook book", on how to boil your bass strings for longer life. I think Jay Turser was the editor.

LOL. Good one, homey. Like I care if the story is backed up.

On the other hand, last week I saw one of those calendars with vintage guitars and it included the Music Man EBMM!

Well I ain't no homey and I"m sorry the publication may have sucked for you'all. The one I have here is very nice and was salvaged from a Goodwill store. It's got pics of guitars init that I'd never even heard of,super nice pictures and yes, it resides on my coffee table. It's ISBN 0-681-37274-5, copyrighted in 2000, entitled "Electric Guitars, The Illustrated Encyclopedia". 320 full color pages with over 1200 pics. And its 12x18 or so in size, coffee table size. I highly recommend it to any guitar buff.

Here's part of the section on Music man.
