EMGs in an Axis Super Sport.

Anyone ever tried to throw EMGs into an Axis Super Sport? How'd it go? Got pictures? I'm curious, because I really dig the EMG humbucker sound.

Any tips or advice would be kind.

New idea!

I actually decided after plunking away on an ASS that I really like the pickups. What my new plan is, is to purchase one of those OLP Axis guitars, and put EMGs into that. It makes more sense. This way, I'm not messing with a work of art.

Well ... if you change your mind and decide to do the mod on an Axis ... keep me in mind if you want to sell the original p'ups

I love EMG's, but when I got got an ASS, I thought the pick-ups were that good, that I didn't bother removing em, the tone and bite were just perfect. I use EMG's in everything, but the ASS didnt need em.

I have toyed with the idea of EMG's in an Axis, but when I plug it in I always think....NAH!

I've also thought about putting EMGs into an Axis SS but never have because, as others have said, the stock pickups just rock!

But I think perhaps one day I'd like to buy another Axis SS just for the EMG mod.

In the meantime, I've got a Sub 1 that I've put EMGs into, for when the mood strikes me.

Yep, the stock ASS pickups are fantastic.
