I was doing some surfing and came upon a page that stated EMI, better known as Gibs**, owns Ernie Ball. I never heard of that and was wondering if someone could dispell what I believe to be false.

In an on-line world of virtual misinformation, that's got to be the dumbest assertion I've seen all week... These guys must just make this crap up...

I could slip him somehting for you Big Poppa......just give me the word!

Misinformation is all about the 'Net. Thankfully we actually have the owner and his employees on here to dispell any and all rumors and BS. Plus Wonder Dog is on here to make sure of all legalities. Others on here just help police the area as we see fit.......

Way to go Koogs....I know that you have my back...those pissants from the battle are still spraying bactine on the koogsters wounds. Don't forget that we also have a Pharmacist to in Pete D. Do you think he will bring any little blue samples to the OH?

Koogs are you still unable to come to the Open House...you will be missed

This is gonna be a last minute thing. I am seriously trying to get my commitment done out here. I made it home and I am now in the "out-brief" process which takes many hours and many days. I should know come Wednesday. If it happens that I can make it, who should I PM?

Is it just me or doesnt it seem every company Gibson takes over becomes a cheap off shore piece oh crap. Look what they did to my old favorite guitars the Steinberg*r.

I figured this guy was nuts, just wanted to verify he was full of it since there is, as you said, misinformation all over the web. Thanks BP. By the way, I wouldn't mind making this guy see double vision either.

From the site...

Ernie Ball/Musicman Luke, Toto's Steve Lukather Designer model ! A very versatile guitar (and not an infidelity since GMI - Gibson own Ernie Ball)

He collects Gibson, and put this little disclaimer in so he wouldn't feel bad that he liked the Musicman guitar? Funny.

It is probably his favorite. I think the luke with its neck contour would feel funny to a guy who plays gibsons. I bet he only plays his luke and just uses the gibsons to show off to high school students and like minded HC forum members.

BP, you should send him an e-mail and tell him he's wrong ;)
[email protected] .. I'd love to see the expression on his face when he read it.

I dunno, Big Poppa... I read it on the internet, so it must be true!

Where do these people come up with these ideas?

Here's what this nut job states in an email to me I received today...

At the time I got the Luke, the GMI website was advertising music man in
their "brands" or at least that was on the website. That's where the info
came from. I bought my Luke off Gibson themselves and it was "new". Maybe
the GMI holding organization was different in respect to who owned who and
maybe things have changed since then, I must admit I don't know.

So, not only did Gibson own a part of EB, they were selling EBMM guitars directly to this dude...

Someone should tell this fruitcake to put the crack-pipe down and check himself into the nearest funny farm... He's definitely a suitable case for treatment...
