Psyche, It's not what you think. It maybe bad manners on the EB forum, but I thought I would share my prior JP models out there. It is a gear site right. It is like having a woman on the side, except my wife is cool with it.

I love them as much as the EBMMs, but I know why he switched. The piezo alone would have made me switch endorsements.

Endodoc knows Jimmy. Endodoc likes Jimmy. Jimmy is Endodoc's friend. Endodoc likes talking in the 3rd person. It makes Endodoc not feel so guilty about his guitar collection.

If I'm right the last one is a prototype designed by Ibanez for John, not so long before he left for musicman... The bridge is a Wilkinson with a piezo....

If I remember well there is only ONE, it's the original proto owned by John and it was sold on ebay after his switch to EBMM along with some of its Ibbys... for a substantial amount of money... I remember because I almost bid, bit finally too much for me....

So you're the guy who bought it! ;) Congrats!!!! nice collector!

That's amazing.

On a different note, I find it interesting how little presence the inlays have on these older Ibanez JPs. The MM inlays are much, much more prominent.

Well Doc- welcome to the forum! You've got a helluva collection and clearly get Ernie's stamp of approval. Look forward to seeing more of your collection :)

Ah, also, I recall EndoDoc posting on the JP forums that the piezo on the "Home" guitar isn't anywhere near as prominent/good as the EBMM piezo! :)

Love those pictures. P1's are seriously 80s!

These JPMs are kind of like the EVHs for me. They're guitars that I wanted long ago, but I couldn't afford. I think my favorite JPMs were the P1, P4, 90th Ann., and P3--in that order and purely based on looks.
