Hello

A topic for the specialists ...
Some SUB1 have a bridge (tremolo or fixed) engraved with the words : "Music Man". That's the case for instance of ReB87 SUB :
SUB with engraved fixed bridge

ReB87 sent me a link of a tremolo SUB with an engraved bridge :
SUB with engraved tremolo bridge

My new SUB has a tremolo bridge but without inscription :
SUB without inscription

ReB87 told me that the first models produced have the engraved bridge. But the DOB of ReB87's SUB is 03/08/04. The DOB of mine is 11/02/04. So mine is older !!!
What's the story or the explanation ?

Well, it does not change the sound :D but guitars make me curious

Mine was born 6/3/04 and doesnt have the inscription. From what i know, the classic trem/bridge on the ASS, AL and Luke have the musicman inscription...maybe they were replaced at some point?

Do they have the same saddles?

The non-engraved bridges were a SUB-only thing if I'm not mistaken; my 2007 Silo Special has the engraved bridge, as did my two previous EBMMs (a 2004 Silo Special and a 2006 AL).

However, as fbecir posts the early SUBs had engraved bridges, and I thought someone on the forum had a very late production SUB that also had an engraved bridge.

Well, it might not be older. Are you retyping the dates exactly as they were written by EBMM Customer Service? If so, they likely should be read using our USA convention of reading dates in this format as Month/Day/Year, not the European convention of reading dates in this format as Day/Month/Year.

If you read the dates under the USA convention your Sub would be born on November 2, 2004 (USA reading of 11/02/04) and ReB87's Sub would be born on March 8, 2004 (USA reading of of 03/08/04), making his older.

Well, this story with dates is always confusing. And, yes you are totally right !
Here is the answer of EBMM Customer Service (5Stringer, thanks to you). It was an answer for several forum users (in italic, the words from 5Stringer) :

9/19/02, also shipped to DBI/Zapf's Music/Woodwind & Brasswind/Music 123..com/whatever they are now

It seems that 5Stringer uses the MM/DD/YYYY way of doing, otherwise what does mean 9/19/02 ?
Thus I think my beloved SUB was born in November, not in February !

Thanks a lot

No problem; sometimes you need to see a date with a day between the 13th and 31st of the month to know if someone is usiny MM/DD/YY or DD/MM/YY. As I mentioned, the typical convention here in the US is MM/DD/YY.
