Hi,

This is mostly a question for BP (or the EBMM reps) but everyone please feel free to share your opinion.

While EBMM has an impressive roster of artists and a great selection of guitar types and styles, one thing that recently came to mind is the fact that EBMM does not offer a hollow body guitar.

Is this something that was decided upon or is it still on the table? Perhaps BP you can enlighten us on where EBMM stands with hollow bodies and what the future holds for these types.

Thanks,
Jagged

WHy leave it to Hamer? There are a bunch of people other than hamer (owned by Fender now)

THis decision will likely happen if an artist desires one. There is curiousity but right now not quite enough interest to prototype now.

I know I'm out of my league here but...

Wouldn't it be a BIG deal switching from a bolt on operation to a set neck specialty? I look at HamerUSA and EBMM as their respective champaignes of thier class.

Is Ernie ball the last family owned music company in the US ? From this side of the pond, it seems that in the US there the big guys (F...er, G..son, P..vey) with their satellite company and small workshops ...
PRS seems also to be one of the last family business.
I am not sure this trend is a good thing for the customers (that means US :()

I like the sound of the Fender Thinline Teles, but I hate the way they feel. It's not something I think I could get used to. If I could, I'd probably get one. They are bolt on for sure.

I would love an EBMM with some kind of a chambered body that would be kind of suited to doing some really nice acoustic sounds and could then go to magnetic pickups too. I've seen a great jazz-oriented guitar like this. It was very nice. I may buy it someday, but I would prefer if it came from SLO.

I guess the big question would be ... given limited capacity, what would you give up to get it. It's only possible to make so many models w/o slowing down the production line.

Id love a semi hollow Super Sport. Kind of like a thin line Tele. I dont see an ASS w/as a hollow body option w/the usual bolt on neck and fingerboard choices as really forcing the entire line into a serious back order scenario.

Im personally not looking for another 335, 336 or 339. Im just looking for a "airier" ASS...lol

I'm a big hollow body fan. In fact, my pending Axis Super Sport will be my only solid body guitar once it's born, ships, and arrives in my hands :) In that regards I've always been a Gibson/Epiphone man, but I'd be more than happy to plunk down some $ for an EBMM hollow body. Despite my bent toward Gibson for these types of guitars, I did not get a Les Paul -- even thought that's what I thought I'd get for several years now.

I chose the Axis as my first solid body for a reason -- it's a great guitar made by an even better company with fantastic crafstmanship. So, I'd love to see what kind of product EBMM would come up with if a jazz (or blues) player approached them for a signature model.

Right. I'm certainly not going to be clamoring for it, but if they made one, it would be nice. Otherwise, I'll just go get it from someone else--if I don't find my pursuit of EBMMs to be too distracting.

From personal experience I can confirm they are bolt-on.

Love the sound, not-so-love the neck though...can't get the action low enough for my liking.

BP, can you answer this one for me once and for all? Did you ever build an semi with piezo for EVH? I am totally convinced I saw one being played at a gig I attended many years ago!
