I set everything '' flat '' on my amp , everything at or around the middle, and then I adjust / dial my sound in with the EQ knobs on the bass.

We were all '' Newbies '' at one time. I'm STILL pretty new to this forum. But there are a lot of great people on here, some of them even work for Ernie Ball, and they are very helpful and will bend over backwards to help you in any way that they can.

With the ernie ball preamp you can boost or cut the bass/mids/treble (on a three band EQ model), so the middle indention is "flat" or Zero.
Not all basses out there are like this though, such as passive basses where all you can do is cut.

Thanks for your help.

Yep, gotta say that this is not only the most informative forum to read, but extremely helpful. Kinda has that "family/community" feel to it.

I've got a Bongo 4HH and all I can say is WOW! Just wanted to start "flat" as has been suggested here may times and then go from there as needed.
