Ernie Ball 2810 Flatwound 5-String Bass Strings

I've been using the Ernie Ball 2810 Flatwound 5-String Bass Strings on my Stingray 5. I've had the same set on my bass for more than a year. The intonation and sound do not seem to have degraded.

Does anyone else leave their EB flats on this long?

Im sure some people leave their flats on for decades! Why? Mojo on the strings = flatter warmer tone.

Yeah, flatwounds last quite a long time. Didn't James Jamerson say, when asked why he never changed his strings, "The funk is in the junk".

I've had the same set on my bass for more than a year.

Only a year? They're still babies!

Now I can see why BP doesn't like flats.

if you like tweaking your bass every so often, don't buy flats.

set 'em and forget 'em.

I put flats on my Dargie Bongo in 2007. I finally removed them in mid 2010.
