Hello Folks,
I have an Ernie Ball Axis that i got off of Ebay around 7 years ago. I have several guitars and didnt play it much until about a year ago. At first I didnt like the feel of it but it grew on me. I decided to take it to get a professional setup and when I got it back from the tech he said the neck was pretty straight and only required a slight shim. The guitar doesnt feel like it used to. I want to try to bring it back to the factory setup. He put 10's on it. I understand the from the factory it should have Slinky 9-42. Also can someone tell me how many springs are installed on the tremelo from the factory? Also is the tremelo supposed to be raised off the body? I also notice i can hear the tremelo hit the body when bending the strings sometimes is this normal? In addition after the Tech set the guitar up the strings bottom when bending them at about the 17th fret or so. Another guitar "self proclaimed guru" said that due the radius of the neck being so rounded vs more flat that this is an issue with the Ernie Ball guitars. I just want to get the guitar back to the way it used to feel anybody have any recommendations im pretty technical with other things but I am not that familiar with the science of adjusting neck's saddles etc. Im open to trying somethings myseld if someone wants to quarter back me through it. In addition I live on Long Island in New York and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good guitar tech prefferably someone with Ernie Ball experience. Thanks in advance for the help Regards Ken..
