I would love to have one of the older Axis hard tails that had the single volume control knob on them. Is there a reason why Musicman stopped producing these guitars like that?

Reason? Um, probably because they are a small shop with a limited production capacity, so back when the Axis Sport model was being introduced with the hardtail option, they decided it was no longer necessary to produce a hardtail Axis. Of course, now the Axis Super Sport is the model you look at if you want an Axis with a hardtail, but used Axis Hardtails do pop up on Ebay from time to time if you keep your eyes open... don't they Tim
