G'day, first post on this forum.
Just wanted to express my fandom of these wonderful strings.
Coated Electric Titanium RPS Super Slinky .009 - .042 was the particular pack I bought. I really couldn't be much happier with these strings. I think it's important to note what guitar the strings are going on before you review them. The guitar is a '98 MIJ Ibanez, so floating locking bridge and a locking nut.
A few things I noted.
- The strings require a tad less stretching than regular Slinkys, which is always a plus for a new set of strings, as it requires a little less work on the whole restringing process, especially on the Floyd Rose.
- The strings clipped easily and stayed in the Floyd blocks. No really that important. A niggle I usually find with cheap strings.
- Packaging; exceptional as always.
- In terms of feel, I really enjoy how these strings feel under my fingers. They don't quite feel as "rubber band-y" as the regular Nickel Wound Slinkys, but they still have that coveted Ernie Ball "Slinky" feel to them. These feel very nice and super easy to play.
Tonally here is my impression.
These strings sound very similar to Nickel Wound Slinkys, but the coating process may have shaved off a little teenie tiny bit of the highs, and pushed up the mids a little.
To sum up, I'm really digging the tone and the feel. Best strings I've tried so far!
