wow this is the shadiest thing ive seen in a while.

I've seen worse recently...there was a L*k*l*n*d Skyline 44-02 that was refinished trans white (USA only color) with a USA headstock decal on the front floating around recently...only problem is that the genius that went to all that trouble forgot to remove the "Made in Korea" decal off the back of the headstock...dooh!!

I kid you not!

Was that the same one that one of our Pitter's was going to buy (or bought)?

Yes, that's where I saw it but whoever bought it knew what they were buying and it was priced accordingly I do believe.

I'm the owner of the specific bass you are referring to. I was well aware of the exact model it is, and I have never misrepresented it other than what it is.

I think Ebay has to be approached with much sense and suspicion. It is definitely not a place to let your heart rule your head. Building up knowledge through forums such as this undoubtedly increases confidence in making those all-important purchases. After inheriting my SUB I wanted to obtain a Ray. After registering here and asking the questions I was able to bid with a high level of confidence on the Ray that I now have. I also think it is a good idea to ask the seller as many questions as possible based on your knowledge even if you know the answers. You can never be 100% sure on ebay but at least you won't be taken in by auctions like the one in question.
