I just called MMan, and got the dims for the 5983 case.

41.5" L x 17.5"W x 6.5"D

Does this sound about right to you 5983 case owners?

I was kinda surprised since it's not much smaller than any other SKB or Gator case...

Yes, those are the correct dimensions, I've punched those numbers in on UPS.com many times.
