well due to having nothing better to do this evening i got round to doing something i was dreading but needed to be done. took old strings off and threw them out, removed bridge saddles and screws and mute pad then removed the bridge from the body. stripped the height adjusters from the saddles then put all screws springs etc into a small container with enough w.d 40 in it to cover them, removed them after a while and cleaned them. polished the bridge and put it all back together and put the bridge back onto the bass. i then sprayed lemon oil onto the fredboard and went for a coffee. went back and polished the fretboard and restrung the bass with new strings, set action and intonation and job done. i have went on a bit here but actually doing it seemed to take forever. the crap that i cleaned of the whole bridge assembly was unbelievable but looks excellent now its done. i hope its a long time before i have to do that again....is it sad that i actually enjoy looking at my musicman as much as i do playing it ?
