i know EBMM doesn't make any semi hollow guitar, but which model will be closer in tone to a ES-335?? would it be the Reflex??? would the chambered body of the Reflex give you hollow tone??

I don't really think you're going to get close with any of them, imo, different things entirely.

The Reflex does have a more 'alive' tone due to the chambering, though, and it's pretty versatile. Great jazz tones with the pickups in parallel mode and the tone dialed back a bit.

I have to agree with Beej, the Reflex got is own and unique voicing. If you are in a market of ES-335 get one or give an ear to the Reflex and maybe the tone you will hear will please you more than the Gibson one. You need to try

thanks guys, i will try a Reflex to see if i can get some jazz tones out of it. I have no doubt the sound is very unique to the reflex. i really don't want to spend that much money on a ES-335 and i wanted a similar sound from a EBMM guitar with better quality than gibson a much lower price

Yep, Reflex is probably your closest bet, but it's no 335. It does pull off "smooth and warm" very well though.

for what it's worth - I find the reflex/25th has very good semi tones (that's tones from a semi not semi-tones!) and are incredibly close to that of the 335 I sold to buy my Luke -
the chambering on the 25th for me gives the semi sound without any of the feedback issues you get with f-holes - that said if they made a 25th/reflex with a 'hole' f or otherwise I think it'd look sexy - no idea what it'd sound like - EBMM spend a fortune on R&D so I'm guessing they tested it with and without - if you've not played a reflex try it out - I think you'll find it'll do what you want.
