Hey have any of you seen this clown that is on the Home Shopping Network and claims to be a classicly train guitar player. ESTEBAN... THE ALMIGHTY! he he he... if you have not seen it you need to watch for the infomercial! it's stinkin funny! He had a run of an Electric guitar that was a " CLASSIC STRAT" the funny thing was it looked like a Les Paul Body Shape! and he had Two Double-Buckers... Apparently that's what they call Humbuckers in the classical world. DANG THAT WAS FUNNY...

I've seen that dude hawking guitars on those shopping channels. I always thought he was a joke, too. But then I met someone who used to see him perform in clubs before he got the TV gig going, and they said he was an amazing player. So now, I don't know what to think!

but you'd think he'd know the difference between a Strat Body style and and Les Paul Body Style and you'd think he'd know the names of the guitar parts.

please note that i used the words "CLAIMS TO BE" he is a joke! Trying to be like SRV with his hat. The guy is a poser who probably has a track that he muddles with and has someone else play! The guy is funny... I think he said that he was train by Sagovia (?) and a viewer phoned in and knew the guy he claimed to be traind by and asked if he knew... SOMEONE(DROPPED A NAME) and they viewer said... if you trained with Sagovia then you'd know who I was talking about... Mysteriously the call was dropped. It was stinkin funny!

I don't think anyone who was trained by the late, great Andres Segovia would ever don a hat like his. ;)

Besides, Esteban is more of a flamenco player than classical. Sure, there's a lot of technique common to both, but classical players (esp. any disciple of Segovia) have so much more discipline.. from their posture on down.

a guy brought one of the acoustics in the shop to be set up back in feb.

now i really try to be fair & open minded & all when it comes to other brands & such.......& try not to be too judgemental as best i can........but i truly feel those things are not good for anything more than an oar..or a stage prop...or a weapon......

I've seen the Esteban Infomercials. A good friend of mine spent two summers training with Segovia. There is no resemblence of Segovia's teachings in Esteban.

(kbaim and SteveB have me posting in the guitar forum now. What's happened to me? )
