Ordered a MM case for my new Bongo5 June 21st. My LMS told me 2 weeks ETA. I stopped in today to get a status. I was told that MM told them another 2-3 weeks. Wow! I know they put alot of lovin' in their instruments but didn't know the same applied to their cases. If you want something worth waiting for, sometimes you gotta wait.

While backorders aren't the best situation, it does let you guys know you're doing something right. Keep up the good work BP, Dargin, Jaun, Beth et.al.

Are their cases really any better than one you could just pickup at a music store?

Like the one you can buy HERE and have in less than a week?

Shush! Away with thy temptation! Away, away! :D

Doh! Didn't even think to check the web before I went in to order it. Was trying to be good and support my LMS. Figured it'd be something easy to get ahold of. Also, was expecting the $120 price tag but got qouted a nicer price. Not sure if that discount is worth the wait though.

That looks like a standard StingRay case which will not even come close to fitting a Bongo 5. Buyer beware! (Oh well at least they have the 45 day return policy) ;)

Barkatozz,

How much of a gap is there between the end of the headstock of your Bongo4 and the case padding as you're looking down the neck?

My understanding is that the new case was redesigned to fit Bongo 5s... I read it here, as a matter of fact.

No need to worry. That case is made for Stingrays and Bongos including the 5 string variation. Earlier this year I purchased a Envy Green Ray from Chuck Levins and it came with one of the new cases that fit my Bongo 5.

The Musician's Friend case would work.

Andrew

If I'm not wrong these cases are included with every Ray or Bongo that ships out of the SLO factory now.

Hey I strongly reccomend that you get one of the specially designed SKBMusic Man case.
So much can happen to your instrument if it isn't properly fit. The good people at SKB spent a lot of time to get us a well engineered one case fits all.

This is not me trying to sell you something, it just makes good sense to have a case that really protects your axe

This is very good advice---
i travel all the time--in the states and in Europe and the proper case is extremely important. In the sixteen or seventeen years of traveling with MM basses I've never had a mishap. Though they are tough and durable instuments, a proper case is a must.
good luck
