Like most of you i'm a die hard EBMM player and just love my Silhouette Special... I have a 20th as well but my number one is my Silo Special...

I play at what most would call a "mega church" seating close to 15-1600+ a service. I was running late this morning and grabbed a black G&G case and hit the road... got to church and before i even got into the church I realized as being not quite awake yet i grabbed my tele which i've not played since i got my silo special (so 3-4 years now). I got through the services but struggled because it just didn't feel quite right... didn't sound quite right and all around made me fight it the whole time...

Anyone else ever grab the wrong guitar and realize why EBMM are the absolute best guitars around and make playing as effortless as humanly possible?

There is an outdoor gig in play every year and the weather usually decides what goes with me.
If it's gonna be a little rainy or cold I bring the squire strat. It plays okay but I definetly miss my morse by the end.
And I think I grab the wrong guitar once but it was a matter of a floyd Morse or non floyd. Unfortunately we play in eflat and the floyd was in e so inhad to scramble to get the tremolo set before the gig . I did it but I was nervous it wasn't going to stay right.
Since then I have blocked the cfloyd for dive only and it marks tuning much easier

I have yet to gig with mine. But you are right my ax is a lot easier on my smaller hands than my start. Was wondering if the medium frets have a huge part in this over the jumbos or if its just the neck in general. Either way I think it is my go to rig now. Wouldnt be surprised if I start selling my other stuff.

Whenever I play an outside show, especially in summer or if its going to be cold I normally take my Tele. It has a glossy finished neck which fares better in these conditions. It has Hotrails, but it certainly does not sound as good as my Axis guitars. I have even contemplated getting an Axis finished with a full on glossy neck for these kind of gigs.

I dont play my tele at all and usually have it hanging as art with my MusicMan guitars but put them away for cleaning up and cased everything. My amp, pedals, wireless units are all setup for my MusicMan guitars so it was a fight. Apparently it sounded "ok" but certainly didn't get the typical complements on tone I usually get.
I've since put it in on the wall and won't make that mistake again.

I take my silo special to everything rain or shine hot or cold and don't event talk about the tele. My buddy asked if I had got it for Christmas and was shocked when I said nope I've had it about 10 years now.

I never was a collector : I always kept what I considered best and got rid of the "not my favourite anymore".

In my eye it is not so much a GAS syndrome but only evolution : only the best survive.

I've had countless guitars over the past 20 years. From cheapos to (what I consider) expensive guitars. Stratssss, Telessss, Les Paulssssss, Signaturesssss modelssss, Tom Anderson, Parker FlySSSS,... Everything from a Lucille to a Steinberger, from an Eric Johnson strat to a Jem Ibanez.

I would choose my AL BFR over all these guitars (together) without thinking! I'm much happier now than ever!

BUT, to answer your question, I own a $100 OLP Axis to rehearse in a "midget-ceiling" basement and for low life jams :)

To most gigs I bring one of my Silhouettes (typically the 20th) and my Gibson SG. I probably play the Silos for about 2/3 of the night.

those OLPs were great... i still have a tobacco burst that i bought (which brought me to this forum) and it's in my garage. it's my "shop" guitar - plays great and have tweaked it here and there but just love it. I'd play that along side my EBMM any day...
and my uncle who is a brilliant musician just picked up an OLP Benji Madden and called me up and was floored by how incredible the guitar played for being so inexpensive.
I'd also be willing to take any Sterling By MusicMan with me... just something about a guitar that has roots tied to EBMM that just works...

i've got rehearsal tonight and im going to take my 20th to see if i cant channel in some wicked soul...
