I was at a music festival in the Isle of Wight for 4 days...just got back.

Of course, it was the typical festival layout and stuff, massive campsites, lots of different stuff going on, expensive alcohol and scary drug dealers - but this must have been the best festival I've been to...appropriately named 'Bestival'

It focussed on electronic music, drum and bass, dubstep, dance, all that kind of stuff (as well as some pop and ska and rock) but there was a heavy emphasis on DJs.

One act I saw was in the tent which had the most popular DJs - called Squarepusher. A bass playing DJ...

This is actually a pretty poor track by him in my opinion and ther is much other stuff, only this was the best quality on youtube. It sure is nice to see the good old MusicMan Sabre being used in a setting like this. You sure don't see this every day.

I also saw Massive Attack, Kraftwerk, Caspa, DJ Yoda, Rusko, Skream, The Qemists (bassist played a Stingray), Chase and Status, Lily Allen (bassist played a StingRay), Seasick Steve, Soulwax, Goldie Lookin Chain and a bunch of others. Fantastic weekend.

Yep, but never seen him live.

He's a very good player although I haven't got very far into his music yet

There's a BBC interview with him somewhere on the net and he plays a superb bass solo at the end of it. I'll see if I can find it again.

He's one of the main reasons why I started playing Bass Guitar :)
I'm a big fan of electronic music, and I was blown away by his second album, "Hard Normal Daddy".

Here's a nice bass-oriented song, it has one of my favorite bass solo's of all time (starting at 3:40):

It really was a good line-up. The Beat and Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip too...insane. Kraftwer absolutely KILLED with a set crammed with classics. I think I was the only one in my group of friends who really appreciated it, except one other but she was pilled up to the max.

That is a fantastic track. I see I am going to have to purchase these albums. Thanks for the link.
