and Geddy Lee ,eh!(what kind of Canuck would I be if I didn't mention Geddy)
There was a guy named John Siegler who played with Todd Rundgren in the early 70s. I liked him quite a bit.
Jeff Berlin although I'm nothing like him at all. I still respect what he can do and I saw him live in the early days with Bill Bruford and realized that even if I WANTED to be something like him, I couldn't. At least I wasn't kidding myself.
Percy Jones, at least during the Brand X days. No one played fretless like that. No one. Not even you know who.
Absolutely Jack! Those are some great players and Macca well... he's the shizzle right!?
Also, I forget his name but the bassist for the band Free... good Lord! That first record of theirs, he's all over the place, and while we're across the pond, how about Entwistle,Bruce and the mighty JP Jones.... too many masters not to mention all of us grasshoppers!!
Marcus Miller. Also, Vic Wooten, Doug Wimbish, Gary Willis, Matt Garrison, Jaco, Richard Bona, Alain Caron, Vic Bailey and Jimmy Haslip. Oh, forgot to mention Stanley Clarke, Mark King, John Patitucci, Tom Kennedy, Abe Laboriel, Tony Levin and Mike Porcaro.
