"This is new / never used straight from the factory!"

Either the photo is very poor or he's a lousy photographer or he's lying, or all three. It looks far too rough to come from the factory.

Yeah. That neck pocket is kind of rough. Almost like an amature used a chisle to make it. The "199x" stamp is that way because the surface is so rough the last digit wouldn't print. Perhaps on purpose... ?

And I'm not sure where you'd find a neck that fit that pocket perfectly. Warmouth? Otherwise you're looking at a custom job. Not worth it.

The auction has been closed....Maybe he got nervous about selling stolen things on the internet.

He said something about the parts going out the back door. That implies theft. He was selling stolen parts.

Jon,

Did you ever tell him who you were? You know, he's actually very lucky YOU didn't buy it. Can you imagine selling parts stolen FROM Music Man TO Music Man? You guys would've had all you needed to investigate and prosecute.

--EDIT--

He's BAAACK...

Here's the link to eBay's fraud page (near the bottom is a "Contact Us" link). I'm sure they'd be interested in seeing that email he sent that mentioned "the back door"...

Donno????

Could be real, but it sounds like it's stolen. If I remember correctly, I believe moving stolen goods across state lines is a FEDERAL offense...

Brent, I was just trying to discourage the previous poster from considering this. You remember those days, right? :p

I am also hoping Jon chimes in today. I would really like this to end with eBay reading the comments that were emailed to Jon about these items "coming out the back door," with an eventual account suspension.

This guy REALLY just doesn't seem to "get it."

I just sent him another email...I said that by his own admission in a previous email, he said the parts went out the back door, then I asked him what he thought ebay would think about selling stolen parts.

The responce:

No, my meaning was that they were purchased by an employee as often employees can buy parts. Even if it were presumed as such, the statute of limitations expired long ago so it would be a mote point.

OK..First, his spelling is a moot point:p I pointed out to him that employee's can't buy bodies, and I asked for the name of the guy who sold it to him. This is getting to be really fun. I hope the mofo is getting nervous!
