I recently bought a beautiful purple EVH that only needed minor adjustments to return to its original splendor.
My only suspect is that the bridge may have been modified in some way 'cause it rests on the top but its base plate is not parallel to the top of the guitar. It seems that there is a sort of additional metal plate in the rear of the bridge so that it slightly faces forward even if it rests on the top...
It could be very helpful for me to see some pictures of the bridge (the detail of the point of contact between the bridge and the top, side and back views) or maybe have a drawing of all the parts of this bridge to understand if mine has had something added...
Thanks a lot in advance to everyone could help me.

there is a thin shim between the baseplate and where it contacts the top of the body. The shim is what is supposed to be resting on the body

Don't know if these shots help but I had these shots on my iPad. As stated above there is a little shim that rests on the body not the actual base of the tremolo.

Thanks for the info and the pictures. I understand what happened. The previous owner lowered too much the two mounting studs and the baseplate now is slightly tilted forward, even if the little shim rests on the top of the body...
Only a bad/strange setting. I'll take the guitar to my luthier for a general check.
Thanks again.
