Hello everyone, first of all thanks for a great forum on a great brand. Before I just to think that MM was a regular guitar, now I jst love the way it sound and fits.

Reason fo this tread is to learn more on the EVH MM models, since it seems to look that it becomes now a collection item. I just got one on layaway in amber and I saw another in a translucent blue (I think sea blue) in new condition.

Do anybody now which are the most collectible or sough after colors on this ones? I think the green is the one but what about other custom colors? What could are the prices on this ones?

Thanks!:D

Hi mcclassic, the rarest EVH'sare solid black, and solid gold. Pink is another color that is quite rare. Purple, red, and trans gold are most common, but trans gold is probably the most popular. Please shoot me the location of the trans blue, because I would like to see it. Trans blue is fairly common color. Thanks, Jim.

Well, I'd agree with Estin that $35,000 is a ridiculous asking price for an EVH, but so would every other sane person in the world, which is why the bonehead on eBay will never sell the guitar for that much. EVHs are collectable, but they're prices appear to be fairly stable - they aren't pulling a '59 Les Paul or pre-CBS Strat thing where you can double your money in five years...

Although there are some minor differences between the EVH and the Axis, they are essentially the same guitar. The minor differences do make for different instruments however, and if an EVH is worth the markup to you, then it's well worth the current price... The Axis is grossly undervalued on the used market right now, which is why an EVH costs twice as much... Either way you can't lose - they're both excellent guitars, but if you want EDDIE's original design, you gotta get the EVH...

Thanks for the knowledge

Hi and thank you for the information, is very interesting.

I got first an axis SS for 500 dlls, the guitar is in new condition and just plays great, that was my second MM, my first one was the "box of chocolates" Seve Morse because when I just got it, well, "you never know what you gonna get"...hehe last week I put on layaway a new silhoutte in sparkle sunburst, and the next day or so found a used EVH in translucent amber, played just great.

The translucent blue is in a store in Knoxville, they are asking 2500 and really I think that is high but I may be wrong, please let me know if you still interested on this guitar, because is in excellent condition.

I saw one green in the internet ina store for over 5K, the guitar is beautiful and I though that green was a special color and maybe blue too, I heard that MM decided to not use green for some problems, anyeay I think green is one of the best colors for my taste on guitars... but 35K.... wow:p

Thanks again!

$2500 for a evh is indeed pretty high. i see them go on ebay for like $1500 and stuff, but a local music shop was selling a red one for $1800 also high in my opinion. 5K for a green one is mad high, i have a friend over in the netherlands who has a green evh and he payed nowhere near that. and usa guitars sell for more used over there than new ones do here! i think they disco'd the green finish because of it fading to gray?? maybe derek can back me up on this.

We got rid of green because it really did not sell
at the time. Same with black and gold. As soon as Eddie left the company everyone wanted those colors because they were rare.

Thanks

Derek
