Thats an ALL basswood body? no maple top ???

says Axis on it. What a dork Halen is saying that he designed it. Why do people lie about stuff?? beyond me man

wonder how it sounds without a maple top. Also i thought Basswood was soft, how can it hold the floyd studs in without any finish?

No finish and no maple top. Musta been pretty warm sounding.

I wonder if BP has any other pics like this? Maybe if we promise to keep the topic focused on the guitar, and the guitar only, he might share them with us?

i dont really give a **** about anything else anyway.
I would want to know more on how that sucker sounds. Who gives a hoot about ed.

actually now that i look at it closer it looks like it does have a maple top.

Still wonder how it all sounds unfinished. That i think was a big part of the good halen tone, the unfinished bodies.

My intention of the thread was not to beg BP for further pics and sure was not to start the EVH discussion again.
We know who designed what, I just wanted some people to know, that there is a mag with some pics the forumites would like to see.

And the reason nobody gave me answers to my Floyd routing question shows clearly that the powers don´t want to talk about it and I respect that.

It's not that it's taboo ... the problem is, it's just been beaten to death a million times. Every discussion starts about the guitar and ends up being about EVH personally.

It's Sterling's bandwidth. You can imagine that he's probably sick of talking about the EVH relationship as it's well in the past.

So that's why we generally refrain from wasting his bandwidth to talk about it. The guitar, sure talk about it. The person, basically take it to another forum- there are enough other places out there to do that.

Yeah the same pic is in the mag. I like the position of the 5 way switch.

There were some SSS Axis Sports. They show up occasionally. I'd certainly grab one if I found one. No Floyd, though.

Well they did make them with a trem (as in the pic above), it's just that there weren't any production versions with the Floyd Rose. But most Floyd users probably want humbuckers anyway, thus the regular production Axis.
